50 Cent’s Just-released LP WAR ANGEL inspired by Avatar Press comic

Rapper 50 Cent just told MTV news:

“I used the War Angel title for it [because] I read a comic book through Marvel Comics. The guy who created it, he’s done ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ and illustrations I’m familiar with,” 50 told MTV News. “He created this concept: War Angel. God created these angels to create war. It’s necessary on some level. I took the concept. It’s kinda from the perspective I grew up under.”

Of course, he’s talking about the Avatar Press title by Brian Pulido, as MTV Splash Page’s Rick Marshall clarifies:

While the “War Angel” miniseries that debuted the Brian Pulido character in 2005 was actually published by Avatar Press (not Marvel), we’ll forgive 50’s attribution confusion. I mean, come on — do you want to be the one to tell him he made a mistake?

Avatar hits Orlando for FX International

The Avatar crew is on their way down to Orlando right now to set up at FX International. Gianluca Pagliarani (Ignition City, Aetheric Mechanics) and Felipe Massafera (Alan Moore’s Light of Thy Countenance, painter of numerous Avatar covers) will be there for their first convention appearances ever, and Mike Wolfer, Christos Gage, and William Christensen will also be on hand, and we’ll have special FX editions of Ignition City 1 and Anna Mercury Artbook 1 at the show.
