Here’s a couple finished, lettered preview pages from the upcoming Hellina #0, which will be in stores shortly. This book marks the Avatar relaunch of Hellina, a character who has been one of the more popular indy comics creations of the past decade.
Hellina first appeared in issue #4 of a comic called Perg from Lightning Comics in 1993. Launched in her own title with a one-shot in 1994, the character subsequently starred in numerous mini-series, crossovers, and specials. A number of notable creators contributed to the character over the years, for example, you will notice Ivan Reis (of current Lady Death fame) art on the covers of some of the box sets Avatar is offering of some of the classic Hellina series.
Avatar acquired Hellina in 2001 and used her as a supporting character in Razor: Bleeding Heart later that year. Now, the forthcoming Hellina #0 officially relaunches the character at Avatar, recounting and revamping the character’s background for a new generation of readers. Hellina #0 and the upcoming Hellina: Seduction (preview issue available in June) are completely accessible to new readers, but will also be of interest to the legions of fans already familiar with Hell’s Mistress.
