Chicago Comic Con Recap 1

Avatar booth

Another Chicago Comic Con is in the books and by all reports the fearless Avatar Press convention crew stayed very busy and had a great time at the show. With no booth presence from Marvel and DC at this con, there was a little concern about it in some quarters, but consensus on the floor was it was a great show for indies and creators, and an excellent counterpoint to SDCC — a theme Avatar’s William Christensen expanded upon in his show reports posted at Bleeding Cool.

Avatar provided one of the biggest pieces of news to come out of the show, releasing details of Warren Ellis’ November-launching series SUPERGOD. The Avatar panel brought a few other choice tidbits to light as well as reported by CBR, notably Frankenstein’s Womb artist Marek Oleksicki’s next project, a George RR Martin werewolf saga called The Skin Trade.

I’ve been promised Doktor Sleepless cosplay pics and video of the Avatar panel later in the week, but until then please check out our Chicago Comicon pics on flickr.
