Urbana, IL – Avatar Press, Inc. announced today that the regular cover version of Widow X #1, the first issue of creator Mike Wolfer’s adult, erotic horror series, shipped with eight more pages than previously announced (48 instead of 40) and with a new, lower cover price of $3.50. The cover price of the nude wraparound and hardcore variant covers remain at $6.00.
“We wanted to try something different,” says Avatar Editor-in-Chief William Christensen. “And giving readers more comic for less money certainly qualifies in that department. Widow fans have been waiting patiently for more of her erotic adventures and as we launched this on-going monthly series we thought we’d reward them with a little something extra. We think they’ll be very pleased with what they get. We’ll continue with extra pages at no additional cost on Widow X issues 2 and 3 also.”
Widow X is the story of Emma, a genetically-engineered woman-spider. It is a monthly, on-going, adults only title with full color covers and black and white interiors. Mike Wolfer is the creator, writer, and illustrator. The first issue shipped in May 1999 with three cover versions; the regular cover at $3.50 (Diamond Previews order number MAR991110), the nude wraparound at $6 (MAR991111) and the hardcore variant also at $6 (MAR99112).
