The Chronicles of Wormwood #2 SOLD OUT at Diamond

The second issue of Garth Ennis’ newest series, The Chronicles of Wormwood, is sold out of all extra copies. Both the standard and wrap covers by series artist Jacen Burrows hit the shelves March 14th, and by the weekend all available copies of #2 were sold.

Featuring the always provocative imagination and razor-sharp dialogue of Garth Ennis, The Chronicles of Wormwood stars the anti-Christ Danny Wormwood, as well as his father Satan, Joan of Arc, and a mentally-challenged Jesus Christ who has not followed through on his Second Coming. In issue #2 Papa-dukes Satan comes up for a visit with his son Danny Wormwood, Pope Jacko shows us his ugly side, and Ennis continues to shock, offend, and entertain readers like the world-class creator he is.

The Chronicles of Wormwood is quickly gaining more and more praise from fans and industry critics, and is looking like it may be the sleeper smash of 2007. It was also the first, featured new-release of a much anticipated list of brand-new series coming out this year through Avatar Press. As for future installments of Wormwood artist Jacen Burrows says, “Every issue takes it up a notch. The book gets funnier, darker, and more intense, leading to one of the best endings I’ve read in a long time. It’s really a fantastic read, and response from fans has been terrific.”

Double-check with your local retailer to see if they posses any extra copies of issue #2, or check out Comic Cavalcade on the web for extra copies of both the standard and Visions of Hell covers. And while waiting for this month’s installment of The Chronicles of Wormwood, check out past series by Ennis published through Avatar Press, such as the tecently released TPB of 303.
