Looks disturbing but very good. God damn it, now I have to go to the comic shop. I wanted to sit on my ass all day and play resident evil 5

yeah read it and it WAS disturbing but I’m glad they didn’t hide the fact that the Romans could be pretty damn sadistic and brutal. ESPECIALLY Caligula, and Nero probably.

Yeah Caligula was as mad as a brush IRL. He was fucking both of his sisters, made his horse a member of senate, truly believed he was a god and crossed the sea in a chariot to prove it (despite the fact he had a giant bridge built to ride across in his chariot), spent tons of gold in excess on ridiculous projects, killed senators and politicians constantly. I read once that he’d have senate members sent his chamber at midnight, they’d go, having said their goodbyes to their families, believing they would be executed like their peers; they’d get their and Caligula would sing a song and tell them to go home, pure terror tactics.
He was raised by the man who murdered his father on front of him, so it’s not surprising that the man had some issues,

It’s a bit of a read but here is Suetonius’ chapter on Caligula from ‘The Twelve Caesars’, the entirety of which is a great read.
I, Claudius give a great account of Caligula’s reign, too.
