Max Brooks Talks Extinction Parade #1

New York Times Bestselling author, Max Brooks brings the new comic book series, Extinction Parade, one of the biggest horror events of the year to comic shops this June. ?Renowned?worldwide for his zombie fiction and the novel World War Z, which is premiering as a major motion picture, Brooks is expanding his monster repertoire from the shambling dead to also include vicious bloodsuckers. ?Extinction Parade will pit the aristocratic vampire race against the plague of zombies which are?overrunning?the world and decimating the vampire food supply. ?When asked about his zombie roots and his inspiration for his fiction which has captured a huge fan following, he expanded upon where his initial fears of the undead came from:

MB – ?When I was a kid, I accidentally stumbled across an Italian zombie movie on cable. It scared the crap out of me. The idea of a mindless, relentless, endlessly multiplying threat was unlike anything I?d ever seen. All previous monster movies were, at least to me, punishment movies. All their victims had made bad decisions; they had gone swimming after dark; they?d moved into a haunted house; they?d answered a signal from an alien planet? they had been consciously or unconsciously looking for trouble. And they found it. Not so with zombies. They came after people who were just minding their own business. They came after everyone.

They weren?t predators, they were a plague!

Extinction Parade #1 is listed in the April Previews catalog and will be in stores on Wednesday 6/19.
