Collectable Action Figure, Crossover Highlight Pandora Month for Avatar

Urbana, IL – Avatar Press, Inc. announced today that it would be releasing a group of high profile projects in July based on its flagship character Pandora.  These unique projects are designed to be accessible to both regular and new fans of the popular Avatar character.  The Pandora Collectable Figure, Pandora/Widow: Caught in the Web, and Pandora Pinup are part of the Pandora Month promotion.

The feedback I’ve gotten from fans and retailers indicates that fans who have gotten the chance to take a look at Pandora’s exploits so far really love the character,” says Avatar Press Editor-in-Chief William A. Christensen.  “We want to build on that success by exposing new fans to the books. This promotion is designed to appeal to both current readers and potential new fans.  Each part of this promotion would be the perfect entry point for someone who hasn’t taken a look at our “Girl of Myth” before now.”

Each part of Pandora Month will continue Avatar’s tradition of maintaining the highest possible standards of writing, production, and artwork.  Pandora/Widow: Caught in the Web is Avatar’s first company crossover project, in which Pandora encounters Ground Zero’s popular Widow character.  The book will be pencilled by Ground Zero’s Mike Wolfer, a fan-favorite on the indy comics scene.  The Pandora Pinup features stunning artwork by the industry’s finest artists, and an incredible painted cover by Italian master Andrea Seri.  The Pandora Collectible Figure is Avatar’s first official licensed product, produced in conjunction with Bolt Entertainment.

The Pandora Collectable Figure includes a variety of features which put it at the forefront of posable figure design.  This high quality figure stands seven inches tall, has nine points of articulation, comes with a seven inch spear and one inch dagger and has six gemstones on every figure.  The product will be limited to only 20,000 figures.  Each case (six figures) will include a variant blue costume repaint figure with six variant gemstones, packaged on a variant blister package at no extra charge.  A metallic gold repaint figure with variant gemstones and a variant blister package will be available separately.  The gold variant will be limited to 4,000 figures.

Pandora is loosely based on the familiar girl of Greek myth, who in the Avatar Universe has survived to the present day.  She was created by the gods to be the perfect woman – beautiful, intelligent, and powerful.  Pandora was tricked into releasing evil into the world in the form of a host of demons, and she subsequently vowed to atone for this sin by fighting the demons she set free.
