Gallery: Warren Ellis’ Scars by Jacen Burrows

Here’s an upcoming Scars cover by Jacen Burrows, a talented artist who has been quite prolific in recent months. Indeed, with two highly-regarded series to his credit so far this year — Alan Moore’s The Courtyard and Warren Ellis’ Scars, Burrows has been one of 2003’s most acclaimed creators.

Of course, the same can be said for writer Warren Ellis, who has continued his tear as one of the industry’s best writers with projects such as Scars, Strange Killings: The Body Orchard, and Bad Signal Volume One from Avatar in recent months.

Next up from Ellis is the eagerly-anticipated return of Combat Magician William Gravel with Strange Killings: Strong Medicine with artist Mike Wolfer. Also worthy of special mention here are the cover colorists for all these series, and the tone artists for Warren Ellis’ Scars and Alan Moore’s The Courtyard, Nimbus Studios.  And as for Burrows, who has worked on Alan Moore and Warren Ellis projects this year, the artist is scheduled to begin a project with another of the top writers in comics later in 2003. Stay tuned for more information on that project.
