Avatar Press is a comic book publisher which has carved a niche for itself as a company that pushes the boundaries between mainstream and independent with titles such as Alan Moore's The Courtyard and Magic Words, Warren Ellis' Strange Killings and Scars, Garth Ennis and John McCrea's irreverent private eye cult classic Dicks, Joe R. Lansdale and Tim Truman's Dead Folks, David Quinn and Tim Vigil's 777: The Wrath, company owned characters such as Pandora and The Ravening, licensed hits such as Frank Miller's Robocop and Stargate SG1, and long-running anthology title Threshold, among numerous other titles -- including comics for mature readers, and other audiences. A company that has established itself as one of the cornerstones of the American indy comic book scene over the past six years, Avatar has published over 350 comic books since 1997.

Avatar Press July 2003 Solicited Releases

It's time again to take an advance look at what Avatar's got in store in the months ahead so you can let your local comic shop know that you want these upcoming items.  Here's the complete cover graphics and solicitation info for our July 2003 releases.

Avatar has become one of the leading independent publishers in comics in recent years, and July shows us several reasons why:  We kick off the month with the launch of one of the biggest comic projects from any publisher this year, Frank Miller's Robocop.  We've talked alot about this series over the past several months, and it's part of our Free Comic Book Day releases as well, but now you can see for yourself how cool this series is going to be.

The rest of the month maintains that level of excellence as well.  Warren Ellis and Mike Wolfer continue Warren Ellis' Strange Killings: Strong Medicine,  Billy Tucci and Rafa Lopez launch Shi: Sempo, Doug Miers and Loren Hernandez launch Hellina: Seduction, and Threshold returns with work by Jeremy Rock, Juan Jose Ryp, and Doug Miers, and Gabriel Rearte.

Get the full scoop on all this and more in the Avatar Press July 2003 Solicited Releases section.
